Alabama native, LOUD AND PROUD, James grew up the son of a car man and a school secretary. He's the third generation Bullard man to have filled the position of Song Director of Austin Creek Missionary Baptist Church, the place where he learned to sing. Throughout his life, James has mastered three out of four parts on the staff and would be willing to give a stab at the bass line, if you don't mind taking it up the octave.

James' musical instruction continued at Birmingham-Southern College and St. John's College, Oxford University, where he learned to sing in foreign languages and take the stage. Up to that point, an opportunity to tell a story in song hadn't presented itself to James; theatre wasn't a priority in rural Alabama.

Since then, he has played Irish to British to Jewish; toddler to dawdler to dodderer. He's performed indoors, outdoors, in gymatoria, theatres and opera houses. Be it comedy, drama or musical, you will be hard-pressed to find someone who enjoys, values and respects his theatrical career more than James Bullard. Go ahead—ask him. He'll tell you the same thing. Welcome to his home on the world wide web.
